I haven’t posted here in a long time, although it wasn’t because I had nothing to say. I have simply been focused elsewhere, but I have to urge to write again. I have been working on learning and practicing my Reiki and reading all I can get my hands on that relates to what I have experienced and would like to learn. I have taken each level of Reiki training from a different Master, and I am glad at this point that I made that choice. I have decided to focus this blog on spiritual growth, energy work, and inner health, so you will find that the posts are very different from my previous ones.
I started my Reiki journey in 2009 and it has been a wonderful one for various reasons. I have discovered who I was meant to be in this life, and those of you who practice Reiki or receive it will most likely understand when I say this discovery didn’t come in a big BAM moment, but in a gradual shift that I only noticed when a fork on my path presented me with a chance to think about how I got to that particular choice. Reiki has a way of gently guiding us toward where we need to be, and since it isn’t intrusive or harsh we may not notice we have moved until we feel a peace or realize what we have that we didn’t before.
My personal experience has been that Reiki began as a tiny seed that was planted when a friend sent me Reiki one night, and from that night I knew I wanted to learn how to keep that lovely feeling in my life and be able to give that to myself and anyone who wanted it. I hadn’t heard of it until a few years ago, but I’m sure that I heard about it when the time was ripe for me to appreciate it. Reiki training generally comes in the form of Level I, II, ART, Master, and Karuna Reiki Master, and of course there are many “flavors” of Reiki that come from different branches that are based on the original Usui Reiki, and I have come to appreciate how the energy is the point whatever the particular flavor a person practices.
For anyone who happened by here who isn’t familiar with Reiki I will note that it is a gentle, relaxing, and healing energy that comes from all around us and the universe, and is focused through someone attuned to that energy. The training we receive when we take classes consists of learning to let the energy do what is needed and techniques to assist self or clients in allowing the Reiki energy to flow through them and create a balance. When we are energetically balanced we tend to stay healthier, more relaxed, and in touch with ourselves, and Reiki imparts a sense of peace and well-being that is empowering and healing.
I am glad to be back and will be posting often, so welcome and enjoy!
